There Are Many Different Types Of Exotic Hardwood Shutters, What They Are Made Of


Exotic hardwood shutters add a most elegant touch to any home, no matter the style, they are beautiful as well as functional.
Some of the woods used in making exotic hardwood shutters are pine, fir, cedar, mahogany, cypress and maple woods. It depends on the type and color of wood used that will determine the final effect and color of the shutters.

Mahogany, particularly, Cuban Mahogany, was discovered over 200 years ago in the Spanish missionary in Palau, also known as "The wood of the kings" was also the wood used to plank the Spanish Armada. This wood has been one of the most cherished and prized woods since the late 16Th century.

Cedar wood is a product of the Himalayas, these particular woods are thick and square-cracked in appearance. Cedars are adapted to the Mediterranean climate, there they receive dry sun in the Summer and winter precipitation in the Winter.

The really nice thing about using cedar wood, in shutters and other areas of the home is the pleasing smell it gives off as well as the richness of the wood as an eye-pleasing effect.

Red Cedar is especially nice for shutters as they are thermal-coefficient, meaning that even in hot days, it is cool to sit inside wherever Red Cedar is placed, i., e., shutters.

Maple is another wonderful exotic wood that can be used to create beautiful exotic hardwood shutters.

Sugar Maple, here in the US and Sycamore Maple in Europe are the two main woods used for making fine furniture and other items for the home such as exotic hardwood shutters.

Flame Maple and Quilt Maple are more decorative designs that are excellent choices for decorative wood to use in the home.

Babinga wood is one of the most exotic woods out on the market today, it can have a multi-shaded or wavy bands of color in various shades of red with purple overtones, it is truly a magnificent piece of wood and it darkens and gets even more beautiful as it ages over time.
